Reading, Pa. – The Stevens Institute of Technology men's track and field team finished in fifth place at the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Indoor Championships with three individuals and one relay team earning All-Conference honors with Top-3 finishes.
Lebanon Valley ran away with the team title finishing with 135.5 points, well clear of runner-up Messiah, who finished the competition with 90 points.
Brandon Kiefer won his third conference heptathlon title, finishing nearly 200 points ahead of his nearest competitor. In first place through four events Friday, Kiefer finished 7
th in the 60-meter hurdles, 4
th in the 1,000 meters, and took first in the pole vault on Saturday.
William Ladd clocked a PR 8.53 in the 60-meter hurdles, finishing in second place.
Jonathan Mordi broke his own school record in the triple jump, becoming the first Duck to ever clear 14.00 meters, posting a top jump of 14.02 on Saturday.
The 4x800-meter relay team of
Danny Jutras,
Enrico Parrella,
Markus Soennichsen, and
Christopher Reyes ran the second-fastest time in school history, crossing the line in 7:57.38, taking second in the race on Saturday.
Additional performances of note:
- Jutras took fourth in the mile, less than one second off a second-place finish
- Joseph Perriello was fourth in the 60-meter hurdles running 8.63, a new PR
- Mick Barbi was 10th in the 3000 meters, running 8:55.71, the 9th-fastest time in program history
- Kane Perry was fifth in the shot put
- Doug Winant was sixth in the 60 meters
- Jutras, in addition to his 4x800 performance, finished seventh in the individual 800-meter event
