Dec. 14, 2010 – Carr Becomes First Men's Soccer Player to be Named First Team All-American Twice in a Career
Following another stellar season in goal for the men's soccer team, Zach Carr became the first student-athlete in program history to be named a two-time First Team NSCAA All-American. He was joined by teammate Nolan Sandberg on the first team while Peter Bednarsky earned a second team nod.
Carr garnered the honor after leading the Ducks to their fourth straight Empire 8 Conference title. In his senior campaign, Carr allowed just one goal in conference play and had a streak of 1,333 consecutive shutout minutes which was the second longest streak in NCAA history across all three divisions. Additionally, his 55 career shutouts are an NCAA record.
Sandberg, meanwhile, tallied a team- and conference-high 15 goals. He also handed out six assists for a total of 36 points and five of his goals were game-winners. In a game against conference finalist Nazareth College, Sandberg scored all four goals in a 4-0 road win.

Stevens made their first NCAA Tournament appearance in 2002 in grand fashion, knocking off Johns Hopkins 1-0 in the first round thanks to a goal off a corner kick from Hall of Famer

The Stevens women's swimming team jumped four spots to No. 8 in the TYR/College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Division III poll released in December of 2010 to reach the highest ranking in program history.
The Ducks earned the ranking after starting the year 2-0 in dual meets and finishing second at the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships. Stevens just missed the first ECAC title in program history, falling short to NCAA Division I foe Stony Brook University by one half of a point. Stevens recorded 18 NCAA cuts in total, with the 400-yard freestyle relay team recording an NCAA A-cut in a winning effort, and freshman
Louise Moores earning the most individual points at the championship meet (119).
Dec. 18, 2019 – Baseball Earns ABCA Academic Team Excellence Award for Fourth Straight Year
The Stevens baseball program continued to show its impressive academic prowess as it earned the ABCA Academic Team Excellence Award for the fourth consecutive year after posting a 3.57 fall semester GPA and a 3.55 spring semester GPA.
The award recognizes teams from every level of college and high school baseball that are coached by ABCA members and have achieved a grade-point average over 3.0 on a 4.0 scale for the academic year. The Ducks have earned the award every year since its inception in 2016, including the most recent accolade following the 2019-20 season. Stevens is one of only 20 NCAA DIII institutions to garner the accolade in each of its first five years of existence.
Dec. 18, 2007 – Stevens Athletics Garners Prestigious Jostens/NADIIIAA Community Service Award
The Stevens Institute Department of Athletics was recognized as one of the recipients of the 2007 prestigious Jostens/NADIIIAA Community Service Awards. The awards program is co-sponsored by the National Association of Division III Athletic Administrators and Jostens and is intended to recognize the many contributions that Division III student-athletes regularly make to their campuses and local communities.
Each year, the NADIIIAA and Jostens hand out awards in three different categories – one-time projects/activities, an array of projects/activities and on-going projects/activities. Stevens received a second-place Award of Merit for its array of community service initiatives conducted during the 2006-07 academic year.
During 2006-07, all 25 varsity sports at Stevens were very active in the local community. This was readily apparent by the scope and breadth of programs that various teams ran. Even though each involvement takes on a slightly different tact, the underlying principle centers on a sense of giving back. In addition, the department aimed to put student-athletes in positions where they can bring about positive change to the community.
Dec. 20, 2011 – Men's Swimming Ranked Sixth in CSCAA Poll, the Highest Ranking in Program History
The Stevens men's swimming earned its highest-ever ranking in the CSCAA DIII Coaches Poll in 2011 when they found themselves at No. 6 in the poll after its sparkling start to the 2011-12 season.
Stevens opened the year with a convincing victory over Montclair State University and then won the New York University Fall Invitational over host NYU, ranked 20th in the poll, and SUNY Cortland. The Ducks followed that up with a win over Misericordia University before rolling to the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship for a third-straight year in early December.
The ranking was a sign of what was to come for the Ducks as they finished 11th at the NCAA DIII Championships in March of 2012, the highest finish in program history.
The games/events noted above are not meant to be a complete listing of Stevens' events on these dates, but a sampling of great moments as determined by the Stevens Department of Athletic Communications.
